You stayed up until midnight perfecting the sequence for your 9am class, and while you taught and got through it, you know the class wasn't your best. It all feels fuzzy but you to some degree, you know that there is a level of expertise and confidence that you are still lacking...and because you're driven and a hard worker, you're not satisfied. And when your student comes up to you after class to ask you why her low back constantly hurts in forearm balance, you fumble through an answer...but again, it's another sign that there is more you need to learn in order to truly be helpful and of service to your students.
It doesn't make sense...there was TONS of information in your 200 hour training! And your lead trainer brought in so many medical and teaching experts who did dozens and dozens of hours of lecturing. You have a 300 page manual with so much information in it, and a myriad of handwritten notes...So why do you still feel unprepared?
I've heard this over and over again from countless 200 hour graduates that something's missing. And while most 200 hour trainings have good intentions, here's what I see truly missing from the vast majority of programs: an over emphasis on the amount of information given, and not enough consideration as to how students digest the information.
Think about it...if success was guaranteed through the simple act of receiving the most information, then we could all just google our way to becoming the best basketball player, heart surgeon, saxophonist, or yoga teacher around - but that's not the case....so clearly it's not about just information.
Here's my take: I'm a systems guy. And to me, the system and organization of information is much more important that the information itself. Again, you can get boundless amounts of information from google or youtube, but it's not super effective in helping you transform into someone greater, because it's all random. If I gave you the numbers of my cell phone number but scrambled up the order, you'd have a hard time calling me. The content was there, but the order of the content wasn't taken into consideration.
There is an ART to putting information in a specific and thoughtful order that creates true transformation and success.
AND....as you learn HOW TO TEACH not just WHAT TO TEACH, the process by which you intelligently order information for your students will help them to transform into more capable and confident people too!
I've taught yoga to thousands of people all over the world - from Italy to Iceland, Hong Kong to Los Angeles - and I've heard this frustration way too many times from talented and driven teachers and life-long students like YOU. So I decided to do something about it by creating a program that could truly be effective in helping people become their most capable and brightest selves.
It's called YOGA MASTERMINDS
Yoga Masterminds is a suite of 4 mini teacher training modules created by international yoga instructor and creative entrepreneur Andrew Abaria. Through decades of study into the art of how it is that people truly learn, this program has been masterfully designed to help YOU unlock your full potential and teach yoga with the best in the world.
The four programs below have been personally crafted each
with a specific focus to help increase your knowledge
and confidence in these specific areas of study:
The Business of Yoga 101:
Philosophy & Business
Anatomy & Assisting
"To say I loved every second of Yoga Masterminds is an understatement. There was no time wasted getting down to business. We were challenged from day one and I watched myself and 10 other students grow in confidence and ability. One thing that surprised me was how much this training has improved my personal life as well. For my fellow yoga teachers and aspiring ones, if you want to sharpen your knowledge, improve your sequencing, cut down on prep time, cue more efficiently, and essentially up your game, TAKE THIS TRAINING!!! Andrew is the real deal. So incredibly smart, talented, skilled, and humble. One of the sweetest people you will meet. Thank you Andrew Abaria for a truly empowering and fun experience!"
- Nazareth Bedoya, yoga teacher (Ephrata, PA)
"Andrew is an incredible teacher. I’ve been to numerous yoga trainings and have attended Yoga Journal Conference several times—and I have never had a teacher like Andrew before. In his class he breaks down the poses so that they make sense (yes, even the really difficult ones!) In the past, I’ve kicked up to an inversion and “hoped for the best” - Andrew’s class is different - there’s no mystery or wishing—there’s just REAL practicing. On top of that he is smart, patient, kind, metaphorical and funny. He is up there with the real yoga gurus— What a gift!"
- Laura Liss, yoga teacher (Lancaster, PA)
"Feeling such gratitude for meeting Andrew Abaria and completing Yoga Masterminds! I learned so much in his intensive, focused, and thoughtful training. Andrew, your honesty, encouragement, and ability to teach & inspire is beyond words. Thank you for being the amazing and humble human being that you are!"
- Yolanda Cullen, yoga teacher (Bel Air, MD)
