In less than 2 weeks, I will be digitally releasing my new album Opus 1. Although I've been writing and arranging music for the past 7 years, this body of work truly feels like my first. It is more than fitting then, that my first CD Release party will take place in the city where I grew up.
Portland friends - I am coming home!! The Opus 1 album release will be at the Atlantis Lounge next to the Mississippi Pizza Pub on June 12 at 5pm. All ages venue, and no cover charge (donations welcome)
Invitations coming shortly...hope to see you there!

Champion Spotlight Profile #1 - Diane Padre
I met Diane when we were students at USC. We both were involved in the Filipino Club Troy Philippines, and one of her best friends (still to this day)Amanda Arce became my ading or "little sibling" in a matchup mentor program. Amanda, Diane and I quickly bonded and have kept in touch ever since.
My first impression of Diane was that she was unwaveringly positive and a hard worker. She was constantly smiling, open to new people and new conversations. As we continued to keep in touch throughout the years, I noticed she regularly posted on social media about her involvement in the martial art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. And of course I was so honored when she submitted video for the music video for my new single - Champion.
Diane says that Jiu Jitsu grounds her. Not only have the people in her studio become like family (she been invited to many of their weddings!) but the art itself teaches you to be present - to make real time decisions based on "what is": your own body and its current capabilities, the moves/positioning of your opponent, and the exact physical and mental situation you both find yourselves in.
She also says her study of the craft has pushed her to become more present and a better decision maker on and off the mat, and it shows in all the things she does. Diane is currently in medical school - studying to become a family doctor who also specializes in sports medicine - is an avid piano player, and devotes much of her time and attention to her family. Despite being a woman of many talents, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has been a huge part of her life for the last 8 years and counting.
Diane says a champion is someone who never quits, who never gives up despite the hardships. A champion works hard everyday and despite the current difficulties, looks forward to a better tomorrow.
If you'd like to submit video for #Champion, private message me and I'll send you details as to how you can contribute. And if you know of anyone who would be great for this video, please spread the word!!
I will get up, hold my head up, I won't let up
No I won't be broken, i'll keep going
Cause I know that I'm a Champion
